The title of this post is a bit deceiving. I am saying goodbye to “using” cloth diapers. On Saturday, March 12th I put Riley’s cloth diapers into storage. HAVING ANXIETY attack. I know, I know some of you probably think I am crazy, nuts, obsessed…well I am. I LOVE cloth diapers and love to use them. Now I am not exiting the cloth diaper industry…no worries about that. Someone said to me a couple of weeks ago: “Kelly, you’ll be doing something with cloth diapers until the day that you —!” That sounds a bit odd and I didn’t want to spell out the three letter word that begins with a “d”. It just goes to show that I love cloth diapers; that’s all.
I started potty training Riley on Sunday, March 6th. Everything that I have read is that once you start potty training you should put the diapers away and go straight into undies or training pants.
I washed Riley’s last load of cloth diapers on Wednesday, March 9th. I took a picture (see right) of the last load.
So Saturday my 11 year old and I prepared Riley’s diapers for storage. (I will have a post soon on how to store cloth diapers.)
I LOVE CLOTH DIAPERS!…enough said!

Aww, it’s certainly a bitter sweet moment! Good luck with #4!
A bittersweet moment
I have thought about how sad it will be when DD is potty trained and I have to put our cloth away. I think it also feels so indicative that they are not babies anymore when they are out of diapers!! Good luck as you try for baby #4. How exciting!
One of my favorite blog posts. I had a good chuckle. You know its a disease right? But it is a good disease. I can’t seem to get rid of all the newborn and smalls diapers. There is some sort of emotional attachment to them… so there they sit. In a box. Yes, I’ll probably keep them forever LOL! Just know, you’re not alone!
well good luck ttcing… I still have to convince my husband for us to have another one… my heart desires to have a baby girl!
Congrats on trying for #4!!! And Good Luck! Hoping the pregnancy Gods are with you and you get preggo fast! But like you said, if you get preggo after November…it just means an all new stash!!!
Hubby and I are going to be trying for #2 soon and I cannot wait!!! We want 3-4 kids and I am already 28! Time to get cracking!!! Plus, my daughter will be 2 soon and will probably take an interest in the potty soon. *cries* So I completely understand!!!!

Hey Kelly! I had my first child at 34 and just had my second baby 8 days after my 41st birthday! I thought I’d have all my kids in my 20s
)
I had my 7th baby just a couple of days before I turned 40. My last three kiddos were born at age 35 years 3 months, 37 years 4 months, and 40 years YOUNG less 2 days. You’ll be alright!
Wishing you all the best in conceiving #4!
I think that it’s great that you like cloth diapers so much! I definitely want to cloth diaper my children. I think that cloth diapers are better for childrens health & for the environment, and not to mention better on the pocket book overall- as far as I see there are no downsides
Good luck with potty training!
Good luck on your quest for number 4!
Kelly,
What are you doing at night for Riley? My daughter has been day time potty trained since last summer, but night time didn’t happen until this week. Good luck with #4!
awww! I hope potty training goes well! Here is some baby dust to help =)
OMG…my mom decided that while we were gone last week that she was going to potty train Bailey! Guess what…she’s almost there! I don’t have the faith for night, day care, or outings yet…but she’s doing great at home. Even at the ball park this weekend she asked to go potty! Today we went to Wally World and bought a pack of big girl panties for her. Guess what…they are fun to shop for too! She picked out Tinkerbell (of course) and proudly wore them (and kept them dry) all day today! Good luck mama and I can’t wait to hear more about TTC. XOXO!
Hi Tammy- Right now we are either using a Super Undies Pull on Training stuffed with 2 inserts or a Cutey Baby Fleece Soaker with snap in insert. I think it will be a while before he trains at night but he is doing great during the day.
