Mommy Blogger Profile: The Mommy Goods

I am so excited that Laura of The Mommy Goods contacted me. Here is a post she has written about her blog and her journey on becoming a Mommy Blogger:

All I ever wanted was to be a stay at home mom!  When my daughter was born, I dreamed of the day when I could stay home with her full time!  I was working as a full time Labor and Delivery Nurse, and loving my job, but I longed to be at home.  Finally, when my daughter was 14 months old, my dream came true!  I was able continue to work casual on weekends when my husband could be home with our daughter and through the week, I could stay home with her!  It was the perfect balance.  But yet, something was still missing.

Just after my daughter turned a year old, I was captured by the world of Cloth Diapering.  I spent hours upon hours researching retailers, products, blogs, reviews, etc trying to get as much information as possible.  When I finally placed my first order, I felt that I knew all that I could and would be ready when they arrived.  I was hooked and addicted from that time on!

With my newfound love for cloth diapers and the ability to stay home with my daughter, I found myself needing someway to pay it forward.  When I was doing all of my research into cloth diapers, the online blogging community was SO wonderful and helpful!  It was those experienced mamas that helped me to know what I needed to know and be comfortable!  Now that I was filled with all of this knowledge, I wanted to help other mamas navigate the world of cloth diapers, breastfeeding, parenting, pregnancy, delivery, recovery, etc!  I wanted to take all of my knowledge from my work as a nurse and all of the things that I have learned as a mommy, start a blog, and pay it forward to other mamas needing help.  This is how The Mommy Goods began!

Laura & Her Adorable Daughter

My blog has come a long way in the few short months that it has been up and running.  I have finally started to get some reviews and giveaways up.  My goals with the reviews are to give a thorough and 100% honest review of the item.  I take pride in being honest and not sugar coating products that I would not recommend to my family. Of course I will be reviewing cloth diapers and diapering products, but I also hope to review other baby gear and parenting tools.

The other subject of my blog is my Ask the Nurse tab.  Over the years that I have worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse, I have become the go-to person and On-Call nurse for all of my friends, family, and acquaintances.  I get phone calls, text messages, emails, etc at all hours of the day and night.  Questions range from fertility, conception, pregnancy, pregnancy complications, labor, delivery, recovery, infant care, breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and more!  My work is a great passion of mine, and to incorporate a Q&A for anyone to ask a question has been wonderful for me!  Anyone can email me at any time through the Ask the Nurse tab at the top of my blog.  They then have the option to have a private email response or allow me to discuss their question/ comment/ or concern on the blog for other mamas to see and respond to.  Even though I stay at home, I am thrilled to continue my work through my blog!

Come Visit me at The Mommy Goods as I ramble about my experiences in parenting, cloth diapering, and more!!!

I know the feeling of being addicted to cloth diapering. My first child I did not cloth diaper. My second child we started just under a year old to save money, (I made my own out of old t-shirts) I then ordered myself a pack of prefold and some covers like rubber pants. And that is what I used. Now my youngest is three and I have baby fever. Even though I am not pregnant I have researched and I read the cloth site daily deciding on what I am gonna use with baby number three when we finally have one. But I enjoyed cloth diaper With my second and at that point I didn’t even know about the pocket diaper, hybrids, and all the other kinds of diapers out there. I think what you are doing is really great and keep it up.
