I’ve been using these diapers for about 2 years now, and I can say that I’m still impressed by them. I’ve tried countless- literally over 100- brands of cloth diapers, and these are still one of the better diapers out there.
Knickernappies are made in the USA- all of their products are. The company is based out of Oregon, and everything they sell is made there and run by a husband-wife team.
The diapers themselves are great. If you have a toddler who likes to “strip”, side-snapping diapers like the Knickernappies are virtually strip-proof. I know- I have a little stripper myself, and she can’t figure out how to remove the side snaps, but has mastered aplix and front-snapping diapers.
Microfiber inserts are absorbent, but the optional Loopy-Do inserts combine both microfiber and hemp french terry into a trim, clean-washing insert. The way the Loopy-Do inserts are sewn into a loop means all the layers get surface-cleaned in the washer, resulting in a cleaner insert. Another benefit? They come pre-washed!
The diapers have been tested to fit babies from 8 to 40 pounds. They’re a larger “one-size” diaper than some
other brands, and the side snaps seem to make them fit longer on larger toddlers and babies. The rise is longer than a lot of other diaper brands, too. If you have a baby with a shorter rise, these may not be the best diapers for your baby, but if your little one is long in the rise, the diapers should be a great fit! This picture shows the diapers in their smallest setting (red diaper-snapped down and on the tightest waist setting) compared with the unsnapped rise and largest waist setting (blue diaper). My 30-pound son is tall and slim, and wears the diapers at the largest rise setting- and still has a long way to go as far as the waist snaps- he is only on the second set of snaps!
The elastic at the legs is gentle and doesn’t cause red marks- great for thicker legs! And the waist is flat in front, since the snaps are at the sides, so it creates a slimmer look and a trimmer fit in pants.
If you have a heavy-wetter, these diapers just stuffed with micro-terry inserts may not be the best for nighttime use- the pocket isn’t as “deep” as some other brands, so it can’t be stuffed too full for absorbency or leaks may occur at the legs as the seal is lost with the elastic. They work great as a daytime diaper for my heavy-wetter, though. I have also tried them with folded flat diapers, and they work great, too. (Tip: If you do want to use these diapers at night-time I highly recommend use the Knickernappies Super-Do Hemp Inserts.)
Knickernappies are a great, one-size diaper with some nice features. I’d recommend trying one to see how they work for your little one! :)

I would love to try a knicker nappies diaper, they sound great!
I’m having trouble getting it to fit right on my little skinny legged guy – it has been leaking at the legs. I think I need to up a size on the rise even though it seems crazy that he needs is so long at four months and 15 pounds.
I admire the valuable data you provide in your articles or blog posts. I will bookmark your weblog and also have my kids verify up right here generally. I am quite positive they will discover a lot of new stuff here than anybody else!
